I've read (and own) a lot of Robert Rankin, and always considered him an especially silly Terry Pratchett (which, in itself, is a silly comparison). It's a shame - in some ways - that he's had to self publish his later works, because it's meant I've probably missed out on owning many of them, but I still have many to go back to. Always good to know another Rankin fan!
If you've got a Kindle, he recently released his entire back catalogue and the new ones are there too. I held off from getting a Kindle for many years, but my bookshelves were getting too crowded. It turns out it's great - very nice to read on, especially at night, and convenient for travel too.
I think it's Rankin's silliness that always appealed to me. Some of the first I read featured Barry the time travelling brussels sprout. 😁
